Budget Getaways Review

“Our stay was like a breath of fresh air.”

If the above guest comment we received is a reflection of what you can expect at Intabamanzini, this picturesque Breede River Valley spot will have you gulping not only fresh O2 as it cascades over the nearby Langeberg and Riviersonderend Mountains, but plenty in the way of wide open space and restorative chill time.

Set on a large farm 26km from Robertson, the three Cape-style renovated cottages overlook a lake and magical skyline of mountain peaks - meaning you'll be taking late afternoon G&Ts from the comfort of your voorstoep, while darling hubbie keeps beady watch over the kids casting for the big one at the water's edge.

A double cottage sleeps two, with private bathroom and French doors opening out onto a covered patio and outdoor fireplace.

If you’re bringing the whole gang along, best you opt for one of two open-plan, four-sleeper cottages. Each has a fully equipped kitchen, one double room and an extra room with two singles for the kids. With all the essentials, plus patio and outdoor braai plekkie, at R195pp sharing you can’t really go wrong.

Better still, as the cottages lie fairly close together you can think about rustling up a group of 10 buddies and booking all three.

None of the units have an indoor fireplace so Intabamanzini is best diarised for a summer or spring visit.

Novelty of fresh air, peace and quiet starting to wear thin? It's time to explore the farm. With an abundance of birdlife to keep the twitcher in you twitching, a swimming pool with toddler’s section for the young and old, three dams and a lake for the boys and their fly-fishing gear, wine farms and restaurants a short hop away, you’d better plan your days well.

Intabamanzini - way more than just fresh air.
