Budget Getaways Review
Kogman and Keisie Guest Farm is an appealing weekend package of modern comfort and salt of the earth. “I totally recommend it for great service, lovely scenery and excellent accommodation,” says a recent British visitor. "Fantastic stay," says another on Tripadvisor.
Tucked between the ruggedly beautiful kloofs of the Montagu Nature Reserve and the nearby village, the farm is an eco-haven of self-sustainability, with vegetables, olive trees, lavender, a small vineyard and a collection of well-behaved farm animals.
You like? Well then, let's get onto the accommodation… The farm has three nicely styled options: a guesthouse with five suites, and two self-catering cottages sleeping four apiece.
The Guesthouse boasts a range of twin or Queen bed options. Suikerbos, Kapokbos and Buchu have kitchenettes, Botterblom and Stooiblom have Victorian baths. All have nice decor and feature luxurious touches like percale linen and DSTV.
Onto the cottages... Mountain View boasts a gorgeous outlook, with direct views over the surrounding hills. You’ve got a spacious patio with braai area, equipped kitchen and open-plan lounge area with DSTV and DVD player. The two bedrooms offer a Queen and two single beds.
Farm View Cottage is a combination of rustic and modern, with views over the farm from the small stoep and braai area. The cottage also has two rooms (Queen and twin), and an open-plan kitchen/living area. A good option for a couple with kids.
With Montagu only a kay away and the nature reserve right on your doorstep you have the best of all worlds. If you’re not up for a hike, bike or climb, you can chill out in Montagu, conquer the nearby wine routes, or simply laze around the farm swimming pool and doze off to the rhythmic squeak of the windmill.

"We had an absolutely lovely two night stay on the Kogman and Keisie Farm. Petrus and Liana were wonderful hosts and warmly received us. Our cottage, which faced the mountains at the back of the farm was clean, comfortable, bright and welcoming. We slept with the windows open as the night breeze kept us cool and connected to the natural elements. Liana and Patrus's farm is a dream project and you can feel the love and dedication they have invested in bringing their wonderful project to life. We would gladly return and highly recommend the accommodations especially if you looking for a quite romantic getaway."
