360 on 62 offers self-catering farm cottage accommodation with 360-degree mountain views on a working farm just 7 kilometers outside the charming village of Montagu, in the Little Karoo on the R62. A mere 2 hours drive from Cape Town brings one through the stone portals of Cogmanskloof to the Little Karoo and the charming village of Montagu. This historic village lies in a fertile valley enclosed by the Swartberg and Langeberg mountain ranges.
The restoration process of the cottages was executed with great sensitivity and attention to detail in order to maintain an authentic flavor. They are simplistic but well-equipped with linen, crockery, and cutlery, as well as a gas cooker and microwave for indoor cooking. Each cottage has its own braai facility on its patio and have wood-fired hot-tubs and/or outdoor bath-tubs or showers. The cottages do not have TVs to distract you from the sounds of birdsong, or the call of jackals and foxes. Spotted eagle owls and Cape eagle owls are handsome predators and are often seen and heard at the cottages.
Pale Chanting Cottage - this private, comfortable cottage sleeps 2 in a queen bed. The kitchen has huge fireplace and is nicely equipped. The bathroom has a shower and toilet. An outdoor patio contains a braai (barbecue), an outdoor bath-tub as well as a wood-fired hot tub.
Bokmakierie Cottages - Bokmakierie sleeps 2 in a double bed and has a Victorian bathtub in the bedroom. A toilet is discreetly hidden behind reed-clad walls. There is an outdoor barbecue / braai, a comfortable patio with outdoor shower / toilet and a wood-fired hot tub for 2.
Fish Eagle Cottage - has 2 bedrooms; one with a double bed & the other with 2 singles. It has both an indoor bathroom (shower) and outdoor bathroom (shower and bath). There is a kitchenette & indoor fireplace. Outdoors there is a bbq, fire pit & wood-fired hot-tub.
Nonnetjie Cottage sleeps 4. The main room has a double bed, Victorian bathtub and a discreet toilet behind reed-clad walls. The second room has twin beds. There is an outdoor bbq on one side and a comfortable patio with outdoor shower and toilet on the other.
Honeymoon Cottage - Comfortable and romantic self-catering cottage that sleeps 2 in a queen bed. The bathroom has a bath-tub, shower and spectacular mountain views. There is a small kitchenette, comfortable patio and bbq / braai area & outdoor wood-fired hot tub & shower.
Springtime is a vygie flower-lovers delight and a truly lovely time of year to visit the Klein Karoo. Come and relax in the country and enjoy the magnificent display of flowers on your doorstep. The farm affords some productive birding spots and our birding list of 75 species include the African fish eagle, the vulnerable blue crane and different species of waterfowl on the dam.
